Kiwanis Club of Northwest Indianapolis

We are a diverse group of business leaders, retirees, educators, and self-employed individuals, serving our community, while building professional and personal relationships.

Kids Need Kiwanis!

Our primary mission is helping kids.
Our Club does this through three main channels:
  • Direct support, such as:
    • Strengthening literacy by reading with at risk Third graders at College Park Elementary School.
    • Our Clothe-a-Child project that provides children with new clothes.
  • Developing Future Leaders through our Service Leadership Programs (SLP) by sponsoring SLP clubs at various levels
    • K-Kids in Elementary School
    • Builders Club in Middle School
    • Key Club in High School

The 2026 Jeff Vessely Sip, Savor, & Spend

Thank you to everyone who made this year's premiere event, the Jeff Vessely Sip, Savor, & Spend or JVSSS  another success!

The event is named after a past, dedicated Kiwanian whose focus aligned with locally-based Kiwanis International, that KIDS NEED KIWANIS
Funds raised at the event make it possible for us to to have the projects in this coming year. Some of those projects include:
  • CLOTHE A CHILD – An effort to provide new clothing to needy families at Christmas time.
  • Service Leadership Programs (SLP) in Pike Schools, such as K-Kids at Snacks Crossing Elementary, Builders Club at Lincoln Middle School, Key Clubs at Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory & Pike High Schools. We also sponsor an Aktion Club for adults living with disabilities at New Hope of Indiana.
  • RILEY HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN – A top notch Children’s Hospital, right here in Indianapolis Indiana.
  • SNACKS FOR HOMELESS AND HUNGRY CHILDREN – One of our signature programs has transformed from providing snacks to hungry students, to supporting this Pantry when its shifted to a more traditional one; serving the families of Pike Township schools. We help provide snacks to the many schoolchildren do not have adequate access to food at home. Numerous ones do not get home until late after they leave school. For them, we stock a snack pantry with healthy, filling snacks that they may get once before leaving school for the day.
  • HIGH SCHOOL CITIZENSHIP AWARDS – A cash gift, presented to deserving graduating seniors at local high schools.
  • BACK PACK ATTACK – A program sponsored by the Pike Township Trustee’s office, providing backpacks and school supplies to needy families.
  • FOOD PANTRIES–Multiple local food pantries fighting Food Insecurity in Northwest Indianapolis.
  • BOOKS to supplement a reading program at College Park Elementary School.
  •  “THRIVING COMMUNITY GRANTS” – microgrants given to many local service providers to help fill needs focused on children.
  • And many other community groups that present their need throughout the year.
