Thriving Community Grants
"Thriving Community Grant Program” - we provide these microgrants to many local service providers to help fill needs focused on children.
For 2024, we awarded $7,000 to nine organizations. The recipients (in alphabetic order ) are:
- My Holocaust Legacy/CANDLES (for Holocaust education)
- Down Syndrome Indiana (Helping Hands Fund care packages)
- Global Gifts (Sponsor a Not-for-Profit organization that benefits women and their families)
- Pike Township Trustee Office (Food, essentials/household items, and food gift cards for families in need)
- The Riley Center (Coats for the Children)
- Safe Families (Home assessments for new host families)
- Scouting for Tomorrow (Cub Scout Adventures for at-risk-youth)
- Solid Word Bible Church (Item Support for Families during Christmas)
- TherAplay (pediatric physical, occupational or speech therapy Hippotherapy sessions)
These grants provide a conduit to return funds raised at April's Jeff Vessely Sip, Savor, & Spend (JVSSS) back to the community. Kiwanis By-Laws require that all funds collected from outside of the Club be returned to the community in either service or financial support. We had 95% of Club members contribute to this year’s JVSSS, bringing in over $20,000 in revenue.
