2025-2026 Officers

Coming back as her second term as Club President of the Northwest Kiwanis Club.  Annette joined Kiwanis in January of 2019 after winning the office of Trustee for Pike Township.  She served as president during 2021-2022. Community Service is very important to Annette and she enjoys working with youth. 

Annette holds a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Martin University and holds three Master's Degrees from Ball State University in Adult Community Education, Executive Development for Public Service, and Career Technical Education. Annette also holds Certifications in Community Leadership from Ivy Tech State College, Gerontology from Ball State University. 

Annette was awarded Trustee of the Year for 2022. In addition to serving on our Board of directors, she is currently an Adjunct Professor at Martin University, working in the area of Adult, Higher and enrolled in the Cohort Community Education and Master of Science in Organizational Leadership program at Martin University. Annette is a Lifetime Member of the NAACP, Indiana Democratic African-American Caucus (IDAAC), Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc., Gamma Phi Delta Sorority, Inc., Kiwanis, Toastmasters, and the National Council for Negro Women (NCNW). Annette serves on the Boards of Community Action of Greater Indianapolis the Fay Biccard Glick Neighborhood Center, and Resilient Pike. She also serves on the Advisory Board of Hoosier Interfaith Power & Light and Faith in Place where she “Lobbies” for environmental issues and concerns for the African-American Community. She is also a member of the Indiana Black Expo Education Committee. 

Annette enjoys facilitating and doing research projects in history as an Educator, Elected Official, Historian, Researcher, Writer, and Community Advocate. As a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, she serves on the Scholarship Committee, serves as a Sunday School Teacher, Usher, Community Garden Chair, and Political Chair. Annette was with the IPS School System for 14 years, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office as a Program Educator Specialist, and with the Indiana Department of Education in the Outreach Department. Annette was recognized as a 2016 Trailblazer of the Year Volunteer Impact Award Recipient, the 2019 Charles S. Kinchelow Civil and Human Rights Awards, and the 2019 Black Opal Honoree Educator Award. 

Annette's hobbies include playing pickleball, teaching Zumba, cycling, and traveling.

After a successful year as Club President, Sandy is now proudly serving as Immediate Past  President of Kiwanis Northwest Indianapolis and also the Lt. Governor of the Indy Metro Division. Over the past years she has been actively involved in our Programs Committee, community activities, and fundraising. She is a regular participant in the Bingo Nights put on by the Aktion Club of New Hope of Indiana (a NW Indy Kiwanis sponsored Service Leadership Program for adult with development disabilities) and our weekly reading program for the third-graders at College Park Elementary School.   

Sandy has been dedicated to community involvement for over a quarter century. She has served on the boards of such non-profit organizations as the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, and the Family Advocacy Center in Indianapolis, as well as several professional real estate and urban planning groups. She always strove toward improving the lives of those with lower incomes by giving them opportunities for better housing and employment.   

Sandy brings a wealth of life experience to the Club. A graduate of the University of North Carolina, she spent seven years in Indianapolis working as a partner in a court-reporting firm then in television news production. At that juncture her career path took a new turn, Sandy received her commercial real estate license, leading to 17 years as a commercial broker for two major commercial real estate development firms. Her path then led to Houston, Texas, and her taking on the roles of international transaction manager, broker, and business developer. In 2002, Sandy’s expertise and background in the global real estate industry led to being a Vice President/Director of Client Development and Account Manager with Texas’ oldest architectural and engineering firm. Returning to Indianapolis, Sandy served as a consultant for a large Canadian engineering firm, helping them grow business in the Greater Toronto Area and across Canada. Her career path then led to collaboration with an Austin, Texas based business specializing in the design and manufacturing of luxury furniture. 

Sandy’s hobbies include piano, reading, languages, golf, and travel. She also enjoys spending time with family.

Roy joined The Kiwanis Club of Northwest Indianapolis in 1987, mainly to network with local business leaders to build his career as a copier salesman. He was tapped to join the Board of Directors early in his membership and served on the Board of Directors many times as Treasurer, Secretary, Membership Chair, Vice President, President-elect, and President in 1993-1994. Then after 30 years, Roy again served as President for the 2023-2024 year. He serves regular reader with the Club’s third-grade reading project at College Park Elementary School, as a shopping assistant for Clothe-a-Child; and has rung the bell for The Salvation Armyevery Christmas since he joined the Club. Over the last thirty-seven years, along with working on most of the Club’s community service and fundraising projects, Roy is the Club Advisor for the New Hope Aktion Club and the Lincoln Middle School Builders Club. 

Born in Massachusetts, he came to Indiana with his family during his 8th grade year and has lived here ever since. A charter member of the Key Club at Center Grove High School, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Science from Indiana University. After college, Roy maintained a 25-year career in the copier industry, mainly with Xerox and affiliates. After 25 years, Roy took his love for Kiwanis to work at the Indianapolis Headquarters of Kiwanis International. His first role at KI was as Director of Membership and Education with The Formula- Growth Campaign, then as Executive Director of Key Club International and Associate Director of Kiwanis Youth Programs (Key Leader, K-Kids, and Builders Club). 

Roy is now retired. He and his wife Tree live on the west side of Indianapolis and have a second home outside of Montego Bay, Jamaica. They have one son, Garrett, and daughter Kyleigh. Garrett is an Occupational Health & Safety Specialist for Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services in Austin, Texas. Kyleigh, with son-in-law Matt, have two elementary aged sons. They live near Roy’s home in Indy. Roy spends most of all his down time with his children and grandsons.

Kimyata is a dedicated community leader with over 15 years of experience serving families and strengthening neighborhoods. As the former Senior Director of Family and Community at the Fay Biccard Glick Neighborhood Center, Kimyata played a pivotal role in building impactful partnerships throughout Pike and Washington Townships. She successfully created, implemented, and managed numerous programs designed to support, empower, and uplift local residents. 

Driven by a deep passion for community engagement and family advocacy, Kimyata continues her mission to connect individuals and families with vital resources, support services, and opportunities for growth. Her unwavering commitment to making a difference has left a lasting impact on the communities she serves.

A Kiwanian for more than a decade, Tom was drawn to the organization after speaking to the Northwest Indianapolis Kiwanis about personal health and being inspired by its mission of improving children’s lives worldwide. He has served on multiple committees and in numerous leadership roles—including Secretary, Vice President, President, and two terms as Lt. Governor of the Indy Metro Division. In 2026, he will become Membership Coordinator for the Indiana District and will serve as District Governor in 2027–2028.

With over 45 years of experience in aquatic health, safety, and education, Tom is a nationally recognized leader in aquatic fitness programming and equipment innovation. A graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in Exercise Science, Tom is the founder of ARC2 Enterprises and creator of BOQ Aquatic Fitness Equipment and BOQUA Aquatic Fitness Programming—both designed to improve lives through aquatic exercise. His diverse career spans lifeguarding, athletic training, health coaching, and developing programs that blend fitness, rehabilitation, and water safety.

Angie first visited a Kiwanis meeting in October of 2022 at her husband Curtis' insistence. She enjoyed the people and the atmosphere, but most importantly, there was a speaker who shared with such passion. Angie was asked if she would like to read to third graders weekly at the College Park Elementary school, which is one of the NW Kiwanis programs. She did, and has not stopped since. As a result, Angie joined the Northwest Indy Kiwanis group in April of 2023. 

She likes attending plays, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoys long walks with Chloe & Peanut, her fur babies. Angie works as the Director of Children's ministries at her church part time. She serves on the board of New Song Mission, which is a place in Brown County where kids can receive education, emotional support, and spiritual direction in their lives. Angie is also a new board member to a non-profit that shares about the past-history of African American heroes in play form. 

Angie has been married to Past-President Curtis for 41 years and they have four adult children and two grand kids. She looks forward to seeing how she can better serve in the Kiwanis organization.

This is Laura's first opportunity to serve as an Officer of the Northwest Kiwanis Club in the role of Director. Laura was first introduced to Kiwanis in the fall of 2024 when she was asked to come share with the Club about Safe Families for Children. She and her team joined as a corporate member shortly thereafter. Laura has enjoyed volunteering with the College Park Elementary Reading Program, at Aktion Club Bingo, and ringing The Salvation Army Bell at Christmas time. She also been an active as a Greeter/Invocator for our weekly meetings.

A recent Empty-Nester, Laura also serves the community as the Director of the Safe Families for Children Central Indiana chapter. She holds a master’s degree in school counseling from Butler University and directs the work of Safe Families in Marion county and surrounding counties in Central Indiana. Laura and her children have been serving as a host family since 2012.

Dave has been a member of the Kiwanis Club of Northwest Indianapolis since 2012, is a past president, and has served multiple terms on the club Board Directors. He currently leads the Programs committee, helping to secure speakers for weekly meetings. He has also served Kiwanis as member and past president of the Edison-Norwood O’Hare club in Chicago and a member of the Plainfield, Indiana club.   In 

September 2023 he retired from the Indianapolis Children’s Choir after 12 years in development, corporate and community partnerships, and alumni engagement. For more than four decades, he held a variety of leadership positions with not-for-profit organizations in Indiana, Michigan, and Illinois.   

Dave is a native of Indianapolis and a graduate of Pike School and Wabash College. He and his wife T.J. live in Greenfield, where he is involved in the local community and serves on the Board of Directors of Meals on Wheels of Hancock County.  

Phil joined our Club in 2000. Along with multiple terms as a Club Director, Phil currently serves as the Chair of our Third-Grade Reading Program at College Park Elementary.  He is Co-Chair of our project to supply the Pike Township Schools Food Pantry so it can better serve homeless students and the community. Phil is also a regular volunteer with the Aktion Club's Bingo Night at New Hope of Indiana. In the past, he has served as either Chair or Co-Chair for our support of Bell Ringing for The Salvation Army, and our team supporting Special Olympics.

Phil is a U.S. Army veteran with service in Vietnam.
